Bluebell walks in London: Join our wonderful walks in March and April 2019

We have planned some stunning walks for March and April, so make sure you don’t miss them. I am super excited, as I am sure we have found the best bluebell walks in and around London for you, which will all take place in April

Our walks are super friendly and fun, if you have never walked with us before, please don’t hesitate. Our walkers love to meet new people and there are lots of interesting people to chat with. We will make sure you will feel right at home from the start. Our walks are a good challenge, but we don’t walk ridiculously fast, and we always look out for each other. If you are a Nordic Walker then you will find lots of us will use our poles, but feel free to join us without poles.

Saturday 30 March 2019

After a spectacularly beautiful walk in North London on the 24th, we will visit west London on Saturday the 30th of March: Teddington Lock, the river Thames, Hampton Court and Bushy Park. The dafodils were quite early this year, so I don’t know if they are still flowering, but the daffodils in the walled garden of Hampton Court were absolutely spectacular the last time we did this walk. If you would like to know more, have a look here.

Saturday 6 April 2019

Then, a week after that, it is time for one of the best bluebell walks in London. We hope to see a sea of Bluebells in east London when we visit Wanstead Park and Wanstead Flats at the southern end of Epping forest. See the link if you are interested!

Saturday 13 April 2019

On the 13th of April we will walk an all time favorite bluebell walk of mine in south east London. Oxleas wood, Bostall Wood and Abbeywood are all great places to see and smell the bluebells. You can take a train back from Abbey Wood, but if you are feeling fit we will extend that walk (optional) with a walk to the river, to catch the boat back to central London from Woolwich. Here is the information for that walk.

Saturday 27 April 2019

Saturday 27 April we will visit the Surrey Downs, starting in Chipstead, we will walk through another Bluebell hotspot: Banstead Wood and Kingwood.

Saturday 11 May 2019

In May we will shift our attention from bluebells to Rhododendrons and Azaleas. We will walk from Wimbledon to Richmond, via Cannizero Park, Wimbledon Common and Richmond park. We will visit the Isabella Plantation in Richmond park on our way, and will make sure we will have plenty of time to enjoy the Rhododendrons and Azaleas which hopefullly will be in full bloom by that time.
