Monthly Explorer walks

Our monthly Explorer walks combine our love of Nordic Walking with a love of exploring all green corners of London and beyond. These walks are social and fun, and many of our members, many of whom have been born and bred in London are discovering parts of the city they have never visited before. We might walk a part of the Green Chain walk, the Thames Path, or whatever takes our fancy.

We aim to choose walks that can be easily reached by public transport from the Dulwich/Peckham/Denmark Hill/Camberwell and Herne Hill area, and can take anything from 1.5 to 5 hours. We will be covering longer distances on mixed terrain, so you’ll achieve a workout simply from completing the walk.

We choose a different walk each time, visiting all the best places in South East London, using footpaths, woodland trails and river side walks.

Anyone fit enough to walk the distance and terrain (which we will describe before) can take part in these walks, so feel free to bring a friend or family member who is wondering what this Nordic Walking is all about. They can join without poles or you can borrow ours. It is also an excellent opportunity to meet other regular Nordic Walkers from the Fit and Happy Outdoors community.

We often finish at a pub or coffee place, so you can finish your chat over a cuppa, or something stronger, if you prefer!

Joining A Walk

New to Fit and Happy Outdoors? Please fill in the registration and health questionaire, which you can find here and email them to walks@fitandhappyoutdoors.com at least 24 hours before the session, mentioning in the header which walk you want to join. That will give us enough time to get back to you and discuss your needs and experience.
